How did I do? My first tutorial video is now up on YouTube and Patreon.

They say that folk are getting 75% almost of their information off the web from video, hence the growing popularity of YouTube, Vimeo and others,.

So I guess it was inevitable that sooner or later, rather than just writing about the topics I post on my blog here, I would need to create a video. So, I have dived in and created my first proper YouTube video. I say 'proper' as I have dabbled in video a bit over the years and also shot a video for a friend for his PhD. I did it with a makeshift green screen, some basic lighting, mic, an iMac and a Nikon D3200!

This time, I recorded me using Luminar 2018 to edit a Fuji RAW image file. You can check it via the link below. This time I used a screen capture program to capture me actually editing in Luminar 2018, as well clicking on various links from within the program that take you Macphun's website. I then recorded the voiceover in Adobe Audition CC whilst watching a playback of the video. I then imported the video and audio files into iMovie, added an intro screen, some opening music before finally adding credits at the end with a repeat of the opening jingle. It took me most of the day as I kept forgetting my words (no script this time!) and had to start again. It wasn't easy and although it's not bad first effort it's ok. I'd appreciate any feedback you give.

So, if you'd like to check out my video, you can view it on YouTube or on my Patreon page. I don't mind which you choose. The video is set to Private but you should be able to access it with the link. My patreon page has the video as an intro (as I talk about what I am trying to do on Patreon) and if you do watch it and wish to help make even more videos (I promise they will get better with practice!) then that would be great. Be sure to check out the rewards for each tier.

Finally, just remember that if you pre-order Luminar 2018 there are some special bonuses which will not be available once Luminar 2018 is released on 16th November so hurry up and use this link.

Here is a screenshot of the Filters in Luminar 2018.
